Okay, so I came across two articles worth sharing. Both are from Jeff Haden and Inc. Magazine.
Turns out I saw a lot of things after reading them that I recognize easily from walking the halls here every day. Bad news for me is that those were almost exclusively from the Remarkable Employees article. The Boss traits, well…..
Good news is that I’m convinced we just may have the most eccentric, job description-ignoring, occasionally dialed back, privately complaining yet publically praising people that are always fiddling, when of course they’re not proving others wrong or speaking up when others won’t. It is no wonder after reading this that our year is off to a great start.
Also, I really liked the reminder for me to to develop every employee – although it seems like a no brainer – it reminds me that sometimes I have no brain. Also, I don’t know about you, but my record of “dealing with problems immediately” could use some fine tuning.
I am thankful that in an industry that relies so heavily on ideas and the people who create them, we have the vast majority of us demonstrating the characteristics the “experts” say are remarkable.
And only one of us who has some work to do.
